Projsect Upgrade

I recently upgraded my computer and when the IT department copied over all
the files, they failed to load my Project. As such, when I bought the
upgrade for 2007, the program couldn't find a "qualifying" product. So I
found my original copy of Project (Version 4.0), installed it, then tried to
upgrade with Version 2002 with the intention to then install the upgrade for
2007. 4.0 installed successfully, but 2002 stalls during the upgrade process
giving me the "qualifying product not found error message." I can open the
4.0 version just fine and I am puzzled as to why the 2002 version can't find
the files. Can anyone help?

Hi Foothillgirl70,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I don't know the definitive answer, but I suspect you need Project 98 as an
intermediate step - try eBay to see if you can get one cheaply. Otherwise,
for a definitive answer, try Microsoft support.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Seems like the IT dept was the root cause? Can they help?
