prompt for compact messages every time i shut down oe

For the last few days, since installing the latest Windows updates (I can't
remember the details), every time I close down Outlook Express I get the
prompt to compact messages. I've agrred twice, but still the prompt appears.
How can I stop it? I know I have to do it periodically, but this is
ridiculous.

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003/2007 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.
