Prompt to empty deleted items when Outlook 2007 is closed

I am new to Outlook 2007. Every time I close it, a window pops up asking me
if I want to permanently delete everything from the deleted items box. Why
is that? How do I turn if off?

Judy, Mike,

I went into Tools>Options>Advanced Options. I found a button to turn off
the warning that I get when I close Outlook. However, I don't just want to
turn the warning off. I want to stop Outlook from cleaning out the Delete
Box when I close it. How do I do that?

Sorry - Tools |Options | Other tab - first button on that screen.

Judy,

I found the button where you said it is. However, it's grayed out and can't
be changed. Is there another command somewhere that would cause this to be
grayed out? Or would my IT adminisrator have manipulated the software so
that it couldn't be changed?

That's an IT admin setting - Outlook doesn't grey out that one. Maybe
there's a data storage requirement in your company that you are being forced
to comply with.
