Prompt to save normal.dot in Office 2003

I keep getting a prompt to save normal.dot, I've ticked the option to
give the prompt, but it shouldn't ask if it hasn't been changed.

I checked the KB, none of the solutions apply. This PC shares normal.dot
with another PC, and has done so for ages, but these prompts have only
started happening recently, and don't happen on the other PC.

Any ideas?

This is usually caused by an add-in. You can try temporarily removing items
from Word's startup directory to try and track down the culprit.
One add-in that does cause this problem is Microsoft's remove hidden data
add-in. If you have this installed you can uninstall it from the control
panel's add or remove programs utility.

Thanks for the info, it confirmed that I'd deleted all the template
add-ins. I've still got the problem though.

Does the fact that I did a re-install, and that *exactly* the same
normal.dot doesn't cause any problems on another PC give any clues.
