Prompted For Office Disk When Any Office Application Started

Recently ( I think after installing an office update), every time I start Window XP with the file “OSA9.EXE†in my startup folder or every time I start a Microsoft Office 2000 application (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) I get the following prompts

“Preparing to install…â€

“Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional.â€

If I hit cancel, the application starts no problem

If I do nothing it prompts “Gathering Required Informationâ€

“The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the “Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional†disk and click OKâ€

If I click OK without the CD-ROM in the computer I get the following prompt

“The file “Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional†is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. Try to find the installation package “DATA.MSI†in a folder from which you can install Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. O

If I click CANCEL without the CD-ROM in the computer I get the following prompt

“Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. The windows installer cannot continue. OKâ€. When I click OK, the application starts with no problems

If I remove the file “OSA9.EXE†from my startup folder, I don’t get the above prompts when I start Windows XP

If the Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional CD is in the computer when I start the application, then the installer does what it needs to and starts the application without my interaction

In an attempt to fix this problem, I totally removed then reinstalled Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional and all updates but the problem continues. I also tried repairing Word but it did not help

I have no idea how to proceed further and would appreciate any help you could provide
