Prompting Criteria Data

I am trying to enter a parameter that when prompted I am
able to use a wild card. I have a field that is 11
characters long and instead of going in and changing the
query all the time I would like to be prompted to ask me
what I am looking for. I would like to to be able to put
in *(wild cards and numbers). Eg. *******2401 or
*******45**. Is this a possibility or do I have to change
the query everytime?
