prompting sequence in table on a form

Greg

I'm creating a form that contains a table of 5 columns and 5 rows. Within
some of the table cells are a check box or a text box. The prompting
sequence is across row 1 first then down to row 2 and all across it, etc. I
need the prompting sequence to be DOWN all of column 1 first, then down
column 2, etc.

How do I get Word to do the prompting in this sequence?

Thanks,

Format the document section as five columns, then create five separate
tables of 1 column by five rows. Insert column breaks between the tables.

Although it is possible to set the tab order in a form with on-exit macros,
the easiest way to do this in a table is to create your table as a single
column and put it in a section with five newspaper-style columns, inserting
column breaks as needed. The appearance can be the same, but the tab order
will be what you want.
