Proofing Tools Not Installed

I can't spell check in Word because it says English Proofing Tools are
not installed. Where do I find them and how do I install them? I got
the CD from my employer so it is a full version.

They are on the installation disk. You may need to run the installer,
instead of drag and drop the application folder.

Hi Sasha -

The Proofing Tools are automatically included during a normal installation,
so unless you customized the install & specifically chose to *not* include
them they are most likely there somewhere:) Have you perhaps moved anything
(folders) around or deleted anything since the install? Unfortunately the
message we get don't always accurately describe the problem.

First, take a look at where the files should be:

Microsoft Office 2004/Shared Applications/Proofing Tools folder

More probable is that the tools are there, but that there is something about
some or all of the doc's language setting that is confusing the program &
preventing it from using those tools. Assuming that it *is* intended to be
all US English:

Select all the text, then go to Tools>Language select English (US), and make
sure to clear the checkbox labeled "Do not check spelling or grammar". If
you have further problems have a look here:
