I'm trying to set up my Word so I can use two languages at once in one single document and when I go to do the spell check, it will recognize that one paragraph is in English and the next in Spanish. I know I did this in my Word2000, and my PC with Word 2007. Can I do this in my Mac with Word 2008? PLEASE HELP!!!! It will seem like a step back if I cannot....

Yes, you can do this easily: Mark the text with the language you want to
use in each place. Word will automatically use the spelling and grammar for
the correct language.

You can set the language by selecting text and using Tools>Language>Set
language...

However, since you cannot readily see where the different languages are
marked in the text, I strongly suggest that you do not do it this way.

What I recommend is that you set up different styles for the different
languages: one set for English, one set for Spanish. Set each style to have
the same formatting as its corresponding style in the other language: it's
easiest to define one set of styles first, specifying the language as
English, then create the second set "Based on" the equivalent style in the
first set, but with its Language property set to Spanish.

Since the language leaves no visible mark in the text, I would apply a
coloured shading to one of the languages, so you can see where it is. You
can then remove the shading just before you print.

Hope this helps
