Does anyone know if there is a third party proofreading tool for
Spanish for Word 2004 for Mac? The dictionary/thesaurus works for me,
but I haven't been able to find anything to check the grammar.
Thanks,

Hi,

Pop the Office install CD into your drive and use the Install Assistant
(not the drag and drop feature). Do a Custom install. Click the
triangles of the available components and you'll find Spanish proofing
tools. Install them.

You will need to run the Office Update again after you install the
proofing tools.

Hi Jim,
Thanks, I found the proofing tools for Spanish, but it doesn't ch eck
grammar, or am I mistaken here? I'm looking for something that will
check Spanish grammar. I know it exists, because I used Word in Mexico
and had Spanish language grammar check. Is there anyway to get that
feature?
Thanks for your help.

I believe you're correct. The Word newsgroup has been full of this issue -
no Spanish Grammar checking. Write to the Word newsgroup - they know more
about it there and may well know about any 3rd-party tools. You could google
the Google access to the Word newsgroup and see if it's been answered
already.

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -

There is not much more to be said... Ther is no grammar tool for Spanish
provided with Office 2004.

MachinaSapiens used to make "El Corrector" but the company has been
bought several times since then and I haven't seen a thing from them for
ages! (and they sure wasn't copmpatible with either Office X or 2004).

UltraLingua makes Grammatica. They claim to support Spanish:
