Propagate labels after successful mail merge

The "propagate label" function is not responding. When I
iniate the letter merge wizard the label option does not
appear and the propagate label icon is not functioning on
the mail merge tool bar.

I have a Gateway computer which was purchesed from Gateway
and came with Microsoft ME operating software and
Microsoft Office xp Small Business

This was the first time I have tried to use this function.
Again, The mail merge was successful. Now I need to
printout out the addresslabels.
