properties button not responding for Internet E-mail

For some reason, the user gets an error message stating
that there was an "error reading your Internet e-mail
service". When you try and click on the properties button
for Internet e-mail, nothing happens. Outlook Express
won't respond either when you click on "Setup a Mail
Account". We've uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook,
Outlook Express and Windows NT Messaging services on their
Win2000 machine. Nothing seems to help. Any
suggestions? Thanks.
