proplus.msi

I have a Toshiba Satellite that brought Office XP already
installed. Now I downloaded one of the Service Packs to
update the program, but when installing it tries to find a
file called "proplus.msi" which I assume should be in the
MS Office Installation CD. The problem is, that Toshiba,
doesn't provide with the specific CDs for each software,
istead, it gives you 3 CDs with everything mixed up. Do
you have any solution for this? Thanks a lot.

The installation MSI file should be on whichever disc has Office XP on it.

Aaron, thanks for your help, unfortunatellly, none of the
3 CDs seem to have the requested file (proplus.msi).

What version of Office XP do you have? When you go to Add/Remove Programs,
what is listed for Office XP?

The one installed in my laptop is: "Microsoft Office XP
Professional with FrontPage". The thing is that Toshiba
only provides you with 3 CDs called "Recovery File System
& Applications", nothing else. I think Microsoft is now
distributing its pre-installed software that way, so
people can't make illegal copies of it.

You most likely have an illegal version of Office. Office XP Professional
with FrontPage is only available to volume-licensed customers, and is the
one that is almost always used for pirated copies. Plus, whenever you buy
Office pre-installed on a machine, you always get the CD, it is a
requirement from Microsoft. This version of Office is never sold bundled
with new computers, and if you purchased this laptop directly from Toshiba,
I recommend you call and ask them about it.
