The work details form lets you define tasks within a proposal plan.
This form is not customisable.
so if you want to add additional reference - a status or ticket number
it does not immediately provide support.
However if you define these task custom fields as mandatory (which is
a bit harsh on your project plans) the fields are displayed on the
form and you can update them. Note if you fail to update them
(remember they are mandatory) the page fails with an error message.
Strange but true.

Thank you for sharing what you learned about using mandatory enterprise Task
fields and their behavior when defining a new Proposal or Activity. Thank
heavens Microsoft saw fit to add the mandatory field to the New Proposal or
New Activity page! Otherwise, this would cause much pain in the user
community. It is unfortunate that the Task fields do not display if they
are not required.

Ironically, I just finished the chapter on Proposals and Activities for our
Managing Enterprise Projects using Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 and
it took 54 pages to document this new functionality in Project Server 2007.
Again, thanks for sharing!

One more tidbit regarding proposal plans they do not display graphical
indicators in the Project Centre.
