Proposal and Activities limited to tracking method of percent comp

After purchasing Project Server 2007 I realized that you can only use the %
complete tracking method for proposals and activities. At my company we want
to use hours per period. Is there any reason I can't change the
WPROJ_TRACKING_METHOD for proposals and activities using the PSI? I have
tried it and it seems to work, but is there anything else that I will be
breaking?
