Has anyone figured out a clean way to use MS Project to do a proposal? We are in the Environmental Services business, so our projects are fairly complex, including everything from geolgical drilling, soil sampling, laboratory analysis, excavation, hazardous waste transportation and disposal etc.
Project can't do the entire proposal
but it can do a pretty good job
of scoping the overall project schedule, resource requirements, cost
estimate, etc. as long as you have a good handle on the implementation
logic and represent it accordingly in a Microsoft Project plan.
I would think that if you developed an organisational work process which
developed plans in Project, then used those Project plans to assist in
the project implementation, and then recycled back that experience back
into Project templates on which you based future project proposals,
you'd be on a winner.
