Can't open any new or existing office files. I'm running Windows XP Home
Edition Ver 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2, Build 2600 with MS Office XP Pro.
All was working fine until all of a sudden I couldn't open document and the
system was looking for the Proret.msi. I ttold me to insert the original
disc.....which I cannot locate now (It's been over 3 years since the original
install and I have no idea where it is. Ooops).
I have tried everything I can think of and cannot find a solution anywhere.
I have run all types of registry cleaners, virus scans, spyware cleaners and
even tried system restore to a time when I know everything was working. No
help at all. I have also started receiving an additional error message that
now reads "cannot find office1.cab > Retry or Cancel. If "retry" still cannot
find, if "Cancel" it shuts down. I did a search for both or either of these
files and cannot locate them anywhere. Please help.......I'm resigned to use
WordPerfect in the meantime and am not as familiar with that (though it works
fine)

I do have the original registation information, but that's about all. Any
clues as to how I can download or locate these missing files without the
original CD???

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.......I was kind of hoping for a solution besides ordering a
replacement disc, but if that's the only way to solve this missing file
issue, then that would be nice to know, too.
