protect document question

Hi, not sure if this is the right group to post this too -
apologize if not. I'm in Word 2000 saving a form and
the "protect document" option is grayed out. I can't find
any clues in the Knowledge base. Any help would be
appreciated - thank you.

Hi Mb,

I'm in Word 2000 saving a form and
the "protect document" option is grayed out.

This will happen if the document contains ActiveX controls
when you open it, and macro security is set to "High", or
if you get prompted whether to enable macros and select
"no" (disable).

A document containing ActiveX controls (or macros) has to
be opened with macros enabled in order to use the
Protect/Unprotect command.
