Protect individual cells on a worksheet

G

Gerry

I have a worksheet with 15 columns, I do not want the
folks accessing this worksheet to insert data in the last
10 columns but I do want them to be able to insert data in
the first 5 columns.
Can this be done? If so, how?

Thanks

Highlight all the cells in your spreadsheet and then on
the menu bar click FORMAT CELLS PROTECTION and make the
LOCKED box is checked. Click OK. Next highlight the 5
columns you want to allow users to input into and click
FORMAT CELLS PROTECTION and uncheck the LOCKED box.
Lastly click TOOLS PROTECTION PROTECT SHEET and provide a
password. Now users can't change anything other that the
columns you specified without your password.
