Hello,
I don't think we need to lock the cell, because K.Pedersen expects to lock
part of the comment box. The Excel's default comment box does not expose a
method to lock part of it. We need to show a userform to overwrite the
built-in one.
1. As we discussed in your post "Macro for special Insert comment text", we
can assign a macro to the Insert Comment and Edit Comment button.
2. In the macro that is assigned to the buttons, we show a userform with
vba. (in VBAProject, right click on the Book1 and choose UserForm)
3. In the userform, we add the username label (readonly), and a textbox
that allows users to input the rest of the comment.
Hope it helps
Regards,

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
