Protect piece of doc

Hi!

I want to lock just a piece of document in MS Word (date in footer).
Is it possible to lock just a piece of document?
If yes: How is possible to achive this in VBA?
If not: Is possible to put same extra password protected information of
document somewhere else?

On a different tack, is it possible that using a Field for CreateDate and/or
SaveDate will satisfy your needs? That information would be inherently
locked. Explore the Insert | Field dialog box.

Sorry, it does not work...
If I use field SaveDate. The field is possible to edit again by saving
again...

I want to lock for example a cell in table of word document.
(This is possible to achive for example in Excel.. Locking just one cell in
worksheet...)

It is possible to protect Sections of documents, but since I don't use the
protect function much, I'll let someone else come along and answer your

The problem is still there.
It is impossible to make sections in footer of document.

You can lock the field using Ctrl+F11 or unlink it entirely using
Ctrl+Shift+F9. But wouldn't a CreateDate field accomplish the same thing?
