Protect Shared Workbook problem

My OS: XP Professional SP3

My Excel version is 2003 (11.8307.8221) SP3



Problem:

When I Protect Share the workbook. (Tools->Protect Share Workbook->track
changes)

Define a range in the worksheet and try and sort it, then all the columns
get highlighted and sorted.

In addition, I can't seem to unprotect the sheet, when originally protected
without password.

Any insights?
