Protect/Unprotect Documents

Has anyone ever had an issue with protecting and unprotecting the same
document repeatedly? I have a form document where it is being
unprotected/protected continously and the document has reached a point where
it is freezing up constantly. The only solution has been to leave it
unprotected to work on it... Anyone else had this type of issue?

Let me guess: You have this form document, and every time you get a new set
of data, you use unprotect/reprotect to clear the form fields. Then you fill
in the new info, print the document, and close.

That isn't how Word is supposed to work. You should design the form, protect
it, and _save it as a a template (*.dot) file_ in the Templates folder.
Then, each time you need a new form, use the File > New command and select
the template as the base for a new document. It will open with blank fields.

You can save the new document or throw it away as you please -- but the
template stays where it is, and isn't ever unprotected.
