Protect & Unprotect

M

Mark

I am using Word 97, together with a colleague we are/have
creating templates which require to be protected for
forms.

There is one section on every template/document created
which a user cannot be allowed to alter.

Cannot anyone assist with some code which lets say
protects Section1 with a password and leaves the other
sections which are protected for forms but do not have a
password.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

I do not think that you can have a password that applies just to the
protection of one section of a document and protect other sections as well.
It's all or nothing. However, if the reason for the protection at times
being removed from the other sections so that the spell checker can be uses,
you can use the code in the article "How to enable the spellchecker in a
protected document" at:

http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MacrosVBA/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm

In the section that you do not want the user to be able to enter, make sure
that there are no spelling errors so that the spell checker does not go
there.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a consulting basis.

Hope this helps
