Protect Worksheet

How can I protect a spreedsheet and leave a selected
range of cells to be unprotected/unlocked? Essentially,
there a number of cells which we need to update
periodically. Aside from that we don't want anyone to
modify the spreadsheet. Thanks

Hi Natalie
goto 'Format - Cells' Choose the tab 'Protection' and uncheck
'Protection' for all desired cells

1. Change the properties of the cells that you want to be able to change.
Select the cells, right click and select "Format cells". Choose the
"Protection" tab and clear the tick from the "Locked" box. OK out of the
dialog box.

2.On the menu select Tools>Protection>Protect Sheet. Enter a password if you
want one or just ok for no password.

3.When you need to make an amendment select on the menu
Tools>Protection>Unprotect Sheet.

As default, all cells are locked, once the sheet is protected. You need to
unlock the cells you need data input into by selecting them and then Format
/ Cells / Protection tab / uncheck the 'locked' box. Now, when you protect
your sheet (from Tools / Protection / Protect Sheet) all cells will be
locked except those.

Andy.
