Protected Actuals

I'm running a pilot at the moment and I entered some time against a task, the
PM then approved the time, but now the task cannot be altered/deleted in the
project plan because it says that the task contains "Protected Actuals".

I looked this up in a Project Server book, but it doesn't really explain how
to turn this on or off.

I'd like to be able to amend tasks after actuals have been recorded.

If your project managers need to be able to amend tasks in the Microsoft
Project plan after actuals have been recorded, then your organization should
not use Managed Time Periods in Project Server. You should disable these
settings in Project Server. Here's how:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Customize Project Web access
3. In the Time period settings section, select the Non-managed periods
option
4. Click the Save Changes button
5. Click the Server configuration link in the sidepane
6. In the Tasks section of the Features grid, set the following permissions
to Deny:

Approve Timesheets for Resources
Timesheet Approval

7. Click the Save Changes button

Hope this
