Protecting a forms content once sent

John Conklin

Hello all,

I created a custom form for Outlook 2000 and was wondering
if there is a way to protect the data entered on the form
once it is sent to someone. I don't want them to be able
to change the field contents once they receive it.

Thank you,
John Conklin

Thank you Sue. Do you have any recommendations where I can
go to learn how to make a read page? I am very new to
Outlook forms and need all the help I can get.

Thanks again,
John Conklin

Once the item leaves your mailbox, there is no 100% foolproof way to prevent
someone from tampering with the data in it. (That's why people use PDF files
and other non-editable documents.) You can discourage the casual user,
though, by using a read page for your form that has all controls set for
read-only.

There's not much to it. Click the Edit Read Page button on your custom form,
in design mode, to get started. You can either create new controls or copy
and paste from the compose layout.
