Protecting a portion of the Sheet

First I want thank all those who have helped me in the past. Thanks to you,
I have a working application the user is very pelased with.

However, I have been given an additional requirement that I cannot solve.
So I turn to the experts once agin to pull my fat out the fire.

I need to protect the first 3 rows of the sheet from changes, yet let the
user view the data; pimarily Titles, but with cerain data added in. He will
need to make entires in all the rest of the sheet. I have done a search on
the newsgroup to no avail.

Does anyone know how to do this or is there an archive that might contain
such info.

Thanks in advance

Cells in Excel by default are "locked," meaning that if you protect the
sheet, all the cells would be protected.

In your case, just highlight the data that is to be unprotected, (i.e, all
data below the first 3 rows) then select Format, Cells, in the Protection
tab, de-select Locked. Then protect the sheet.

That I think will accomplish what you ask...?
