protecting formating

Is there anyway I can protect the formatting in a word document? I need to
protect the font size, margin settings and such in a Word 2000 document. The
reason is I have a few standard format letters that I distribute to various
users for some details to be added by then returned for printing on
letterhead. If the formatting is changed the letters do not print correctly.

Any help would be appreciated

One way is to:

1. Allow the user to enter the info.
2. When you get the letter back from the user, use a macro to fix the
format, or recreate the document, in the desired format.
