Protecting only Hidden Rows on a Spreadsheet

K

Kathleen

Is it possible to hide several rows on a spreadsheet and protect them from
being 'unhidden' while still allowing another user to edit data elsewhere on
the spreadsheet?

This spreadsheet will be posted on a shared server for data input by several
people but only some of them will be allowed to view the 'hidden' rows.

Thank you.

Select all cells and Format>Cells>Protection. Ensure the "Locked" option is
cleared/disabled.

Select the rows to hide then Format>Cells>Protection.

Make sure the Locked option is enabled.

With those rows still selected Fomat>Row>Hide.

Now protect the sheet with a password which by the way can be easily cracked.
