Protecting sheet and allowing users to show details for grouped cells

Anyone know how to allow users the functionality of
showing details for grouped cells when the sheet is
protected? Normally you can just click on the + sign at
the top of the sheet, however when it is protected it will
not allow the user to show details. is this not possible?

Any help would be appreciated.
