Protecting Word 2019 document

I'd like to send a Word 2019 document to some people instead of a PDF in a way that prevents them but not me from making any changes. I've been playing with Protection > Restrict Editing. Is there a way to do this without requiring me to have to Stop Protection when I want to edit it and recreate a password anew each time I want to protect it? What I see is a binary choice, either password for everyone including me or no one. I do have Read Only chosen, but its effect seems to depend on Enforce Protection being invoked. Thanks,
