Protection a Column

Kathy

Hi,

I know you can protect a sheet and workbook, but can you
protect a column within the workbook or sheet. I have
three columns with formula that I do not want the end user
to changed but at the same time I also have 10 columns
that need to able to change the data.

Thank you, Kathy

Hi Kathy!

Select all the workbook (or just the columns you need)
Format > Cells > Protection > Remove check from "Locked"
OK

Select the single column you want to protect
Format > Cells > Protection > Place check in "Locked"
OK

Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet
Give and confirm a password.

Internal passwords are not that secure but they will prevent
accidental corruption.
