Protection Question

Hi to all again,

2 protection questions:

a) Is it possible to protect a formula in a named range?
b) In a data sheet how can I protect the headings row and not protect the
remainder of the sheet (as data will constantly be added)

I have protected most of my sheets, leaving the minimal amount of cells
unlocked for the user to input data, but the above two have me stumped.

As usual any help will be very greatfully appreciated.

Ken,

For any protection to work, you need to format the cells as Locked for those that you want to protect, and Unlocked for those that
you want to allow to be changed (Format | Cells... Protection Tab), and then turn on sheet protection (Tools | Protection...
Protect Sheet)

Ken,

I think you would need to use the worksheet's change event to reformat the named range as it dynamically changed.
