protection

I created a document, selected Protection>Protect Sheet, then made it a
shared document. My problem is now the “Unprotect Sheet†selection is
grayed out and I need to make some changes. I am also unable to
unshare the sheet. I would appreciate any info on the issue.

Hi
you can't change the protection in a shared document. You first have to
unshare the document. This should be possible in the menu (or save it
as a different file)

I saved it as a different file name and I still am unable to unprotect it.
The unprotect is grayed out and the only thing that is not grayed out is the
"protect shared workbook" command. but the workbook is protected because when
I try to add data it gives me an error to unprotect the document.

Is where I'd find that option in xl2002 for the USA.
