We are wanting to move our SharePoint and Project Server databases from a SQL
2005 server to a new SQL 2008 server. The steps that we have taken to
attempt to accomplish this are as follows:
1) Full farm backup using built-in SharePoint tools.
2) Disconnect the server from the farm.
3) Create a new farm on the new SQL 2008 server.
4) Perform a full farm restore.
After the restore when the Project Web Access service starts the PWA
instance is showing a message of:
failed - see the event log
Examining the SharePoint ULS log shows the following entries :
Office Server Office Server General SQL Server 'XXXXXXXXX'
version is '10.0.2531.0'.
Project Server Project Server Provisioning Provisioning 'PMIS': Server
