PRS add in for PPT 2008

Anyone know how to add the "PRS add-in" for Interwrite PRS units to Mac PPT 2008. It was in the tools menu in the 2003 version and worked just fine.

I doubt the add-in will work for PPT2008, since PPT2008 doesn't support
VBA.

However, I'm not familiar at all with PRS units.

You've posted in the Excel group, but I've cross-posted this reply to
the Powerpoint group in case there's anyone there with different info.

Hi,

PRS clickers will not work with PowerPoint 2008. The software they created
uses Visual Basic for Applications, which was dropped from Office 2008.

Their web site states you must use PowerPoint 2004 on the Mac if you wish to
use their clickers.

I suspect you'll find the same situation for competing brands.

Without VBA for PowerPoint, clickers are a no-go unless their manufacturers
can figure out a way to make them work via AppleScript or build a program
that completely bypasses Microsoft Office.

As has been stated, the lack of VBA in PowerPoint (or the rest of
Office, for that matter) renders the current AddIn useless.

There is currently a replacement under development and working
pretty well, but it's not ready for release yet. I happened across
this message as I was poking around looking to confirm that MS didn't
plug some of the holes in the 2008 Applescript dictionary that are
referenced in the guide to converting from VBA to Applescript.

Please voice your issue with our support group to make it known
how important this issue is for you. It should also put you in
position to get a pre-release of the new solution I'm working on.
