PrtScn will not paste into clipboard

I have a Microsoft keyboard and when I press my PrtScn key and/or Alt-PrtScn
the image on the screen are not copied into Office Clipboard. The F-Lock key
is on and I have tried with it turned-off. Sometimes the PrtScn will work
and other times it will not. Please let me know if I am inadvertently
changing a setting that is turning off my "PrtScn". Thanks!!

probably more likely you are running some other software that is causing
the problem.

Yeah, I did some more testing and I think Google Earth is causing the
problem. Thanks

I also am having problems with Alt Print Screen. I get the error messag
"Item not collected" when I try do copy a full or large window; howeve
if I reduce the window enough, the Alt Print Screen works. Does anybod
know if it is size dependant or if there is a setting I can change t
capture full screen windows? I am using a networked XP computer SP2.

I've never experienced that problem, but I'll tell you what. If you use
Print Screen very often, you should try to acquire SnagIt. I went for years
without using it and then I got a chance to use it at a job I was at and I
was hooked. I wound up spending my own money to buy a copy for home. So,
sorry for the plug (I don't work for them or get any benefits at all for
passing this on) but I just had to when I saw your post.

If you can't get it, or your work won't let you, I hope you find the answer.

My MS Office XP clipboard has stopped collecting any items. It wa
working yesterday. I have repaired Office, but that did not fix th
problem. Currently I am running a virus scan, but so far nothing ha
shown up.

A few years ago my computer stopped minimizing windows. If I clicked t
minimize, the window closed instead. I did everything I could think o
but was unable to remedy the problem. After a couple of weeks I got
virus alert that I needed to scan my computer for a new "NoMinimize
virus. I did, and that solved the problem.

Is there a chance that this could be a similar situation?

There is a chance that it's a virus, but a better chance that there is a
corrupted registry entry or perhaps even a memory issue. Have you rebooted
since the problem began? If not, try rebooting and see if the problem goes
away.

The other thing that sometimes makes the clipboard stop working is if a
foreign keyboard/language/layout has been switched on my accident--this
would affect the clipboard, however, only if you're using keyboard
shortcuts, since it affects the location of certain keys. You likely would
be seeing other symptoms, as well, such as seeing unexpected characters when
you press certain keys. Still... it's worth a shot. Assuming that you're in
the US, do you see something other than EN in the language bar portion of
your Windows Taskbar? If so, click it and ensure that the selected language
is English US.

I do not know if you have the answer yet but here it is.

Press the F Lock key two keys away from the PrtScn key on the
keyboard.

Press the PrtScn key now Voila! There it is you now have the screen.

Paste it where ever you want in paint or on a word document or where
ever.
