PS 2007 - Change Duration in Assignment Details

Hi-

My client is using %Complete as their task progress reporting option. I
have not been able to figure out a way to allow them to change the duration
of a task in progress using this environment (I can only see a way to do it
once the task is 100% complete). The Start Date always floats with the
Finish Date if the Finish Date is changed. The Units field is not editable
if I add it to the Assignment Details view, and the Duration field is not
available in this view.

Any thoughts are much appreciated-

Why don't you recommend that your client's team member increase the Remainig
Work value? This will increase the Duration accordingly. Hope this helps.

FYI-
After testing it further, I am observing an inconsistent response in using
this solution. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes the data is altered in the
My Tasks view after I Recalculate and Save from the Assignments Details
views, sometimes the change to the Finish date pushes back to the Project
Plan after accepting updates, and sometimes it does not (but still shows as
changed in PWA).
