PS and IE7 problems

Steve

We are running Office 2003 and PWA (Office Project Server 2003). We have not
installed the SP yet.

I installed IE7 (for the most part, pretty cool), but then discovered that
PWA and IE7 dont like each other.

I uninstalled IE7 (thru Add/Remove Programs), which put IE6 back. So far so
good.

However, i still cant start MS Project and connect to PWA.

This is the error i get (with IE7, and after uninstall, and now with IE6):

The server at 'http://srv-be-103.symyx.com/projectserver' returned the
following error to Project.

Hi Steve,

Have you tried installing IE 6.0 Service Pack 1?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-
48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en

Make sure to re-run Windows Update or Microsoft Update after the Service
Pack
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

Last thing
Also make sure that your IE Trust to http://srv-be-103.symyx.com is
still listed. If not, then re-add the link.

Good Luck

Steve,

We have run into the same thing and made the following discoveries:

IE7 install resets your Trusted Sites security to Medium. Reset it to Low,
this will set your ActiveX settings to allow access to PWA and PS.

As Rolly mentioned, make sure your full URL is in your Trusted Sites list,
and if you have load-balanced servers, add the actual server URL's as well.

If you do these things both IE7 B3 and IE7 RC1 work fine with Project Server
and PWA.

Hope this helps,

ad9aggie's answer helped me solve one issue. I have been enhoying and
suffering IE 7 for several weeks now; has someone came to a fix on why the
"Save Chart as GIF" functionality in the Portfolio Analyzer does not work?
Every time I use it the following message pops up:

VBScript: Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003

An error occurred while trying to save the GIF file. The path or file name
may be incorrect

I have tried saving the file on the Desktop, on the C: root, in any folder,
and I have tried several different names (valid and invalid ones)

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

MI

We have been able to duplicate the GIF problem. I submitted it to Microsoft
via the Beta Client.

I have it from a Microsoft EPM Senior Consultant that when the final release
comes out for IE7 there'll be a patch for this problem.
