PS07 - Exclude One Project from View?

T

See if anyone else has other ideas...

Want to be able to:
1) have people update tasks via My Tasks on a project
2) Only have 1-2 PM's be able to view / open this project from PS07

I can create a new group and a new category, assign the 1-2PM's to this so
that only this one project is avaiable to view.

However that would mean i'd have to constantly move over all existing AND
all newly added projects within My Projects (Only these projects indicated)
except for the one i don't want the rest of the group in My Projects to see.

any other ideas? I'm trying to get around constantly moving new projects
added to Project Server in the My Projects category.

Well, the defaut permissions in Project Server 2007 only allow each PM to
see his/her own projects. They cannot see anyone else's projects. If these
two PMs are either the Owner of the project (only one can be the Owner), or
the manager of tasks in the project (you can have multiple Managers), then
those two PMs will be able to see, open, and edit the project. No other PM
should be able to see it, unless they are team members in the project. If
that is the case, you can set up your My Projects category so that PMs
cannot open and edit projects in which they are team members. Refer to
first set of steps in the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com...ts for which they are a team member only.aspx

Using the default permissions, with only the minor tweak documented in the
FAQ, should address your problem nicely. However, if you have modified the
default permissions in some way, then all bets are off. At that point, I
could only speculate whether your manual approach would be the best way to
go. Hope this helps.

As this is a PS03 migration, we may have tweaked it on the PS03 side so that
all PM's can see all projects. I'll have to investigate.

However, as you have outlined, perhaps, it is already there. I'll
investigate
