PS07 - Formatting Columns

T

TroyS

I have ps07 with sp1

I checked out the Ent Global
I copied over the Tracking Gantt and gave it a new name

I want to highlight several columns on the left side of the pane with a
background color, such as Duration, Predecessors, etc just to give a visual
awareness to users of the view. For example, i highlighted the Duration
column, selected Font and changed the backgrouund color to yellow.

I save the Ent Global, exit out of MS Project and go back into MS PRoject
When i start a new project, none of the background coloring shows in my
copied over Tracking Gantt view.
Cannot MS Project save and render that i want to color code some columns of
data?

When i check out the Ent global again, the view shows the background colors
i selected.

If so, how is it done?

Troy:

Sorry to say that this cannot be done. Formatting is an attribute of a view
applied to a specific project. Therefore, the formatting persists in the
view when you view it as belonging to the E-Global, but it will not persist
into copies made into new projects. The best you can do is to write a macro
to do this and provide it to your users.
