Bob
I have not seem this issue in previous project posts.
I have begun to maintain a custom project guide. It sits on our server
"in1rtf1", in looking at the XML it noticed it pointed to another server for
the goals. All the files seem to be in the same folder so I made the
following chage:
<GoalArea>
<GoalAreaID> 1 </GoalAreaID>
<GoalAreaName> LSEF Project Plan </GoalAreaName>
<GoalAreaDescription></GoalAreaDescription>
<!-- <URL> http://In1rtf5/projectserver/LSEF/startDP.htm </URL> -->
<URL> http://in1rtf1/projectserver/LSEF/startDP.htm </URL>
<RelevantViews>
<ViewType> 0 </ViewType>
</RelevantViews>
However, when I open the template that uses this guide I get the following
error in my sidepane:
Microsoft Project cannot access the Microsoft Project Server
http://in1rtf1/projectserver/.
Please check the Server URL in the Collaborate tab of the Options dialog box
(Tools menu). Make sure the server is functioning correctly, and is a valid
Microsoft Project 2002 Server. Note that you cannot display pages from a
Microsoft Project 2000 server inside Microsoft Project 2002.
Retry accessing the Microsoft Project Server - http://in1rtf1/projectserver/
--
Hello - I had to connect to In1rtf1 in order to run project! So, obviously
my predecessor found putting files on different servers was an adequate
workaround.
This must be some sort of securiyt issue, but I am at a loss. Any
suggestions?
Thanks
