PS2007: Checking out documents from shared documents/libraries

Hello,

quick question, when one checks out a document from a document library or
shared documents, a window appears saying that the file will be checked out
from the project server to a "my local drafts folder". Where is this folder
located?? in my local computer? a folder in the server that is mine? How
does it know, once I'm done, where to get the file from in the check in step??

This may vary from OS to OS or user to user, but generally it appears in "my
documents/sharepoint drafts" as a share
