PS2007 - Create Empty databases

T

TroyS

I have an existing project server 2007 environment. I would like to create a
'test' PWA and start off using blank databases rather than the ones that i
have which has data.

In PS2003 use to be able to manually create a blank project server database;
There was only 1 db at that time.

Is there a similar method for installing blank Project Server databases (all
4 of them) and then provision the the PWA site in Sharepoint Central
Admin...?

Is it a matter of just creating 4 databases in SQL Server and does the PWA
Site Provisioning step in Sharepoint Central Admin create the schema to those
4 databases?

Thx for the help

Hi Troy,

You can provision another PWA instance under a seperate Web Application
during which process you can specify another set of databses. This new
instance (Test) will have a seperate url and point to this new set of
databases that you can use as a test environment.

Hope this helps.

Gordon,
does the PWA Provisioning create all of the schema (tables, stored procs,
views, etc) that are part of the Project Server 4 database structure?
