PS2007-How to temporarily change the approver of tasks updates

P

PedroJose

Hello,

Quick question, consider this, I am the project manager and I approve all
resources task updates before they get updated to the project plan. I want
to temporarily change the approver to another person because I am going on
vacation for 1 month. How do I do that??

Thx.

The temporary approver must open your projects, temporarily insert the
Status Manager column in any task View (such as the Gantt Chart view), and
then select him/herself as the Status Manager for in-progress and upcoming
tasks. Then he/she needs to save and publish each project. When you return
from your month of vacation, you must repeat the same steps for every
project you manage. Hope this helps.

Dale,

That works, thx again!! a follow up question: how do I setup more than
one (myself) status managers in one plan??? our plans follow a well defined
sdlc and each phase is owned by a different team, so I would like to setup
the plans so that each team manager is the status manager for his
portion/tasks.

I tried creating a new plan and entering the team managers names in the
status manager column but that cant seem to work (i can only enter my
name....)

Is there a way to define a list of "Status managers" for a project plan???

thx

Each of the people who will serve as the Status Manager in a section of the
project must open the project and specify him/herself as the Status Manager
for his/her own tasks. That's the only way to do it. It is "self service"
so to speak! :) Hope this helps.
