[PS2007] - Mandatory Date Custom Field not working

Hi,

I created a project custom field with date type and set it to mandatory.
When I try to save a new project, the custom field by default is set as 'NA'
which is not blank so the MS Project allows the saving of project event the
custom field is not set. Is there any way to enforce the setting of the date
for the custom field?
