PS2007 sync permission groups to hidden AD groups

We are using MOSS 2007 and Project Server 2007. My sys admin has an AD
secruity group hidden from the global address list that I want to sync to a
permission group in PWA. It works to sync it with a group in the SharePoint
site settings for PWA (Contributors permission) but when I try to find the
group in setting sync options for a PWA permission group (Team Members) it
can't find it. Has anyone tried this? Do you have a solution?

The security account for which the SSP runs unders needs access to be able to
read the AD security group.

How are you hidding the security group ? If this is with AD permissions
then see above.
