PS2007 - Task Updates

I have a project manager that has created all of her projects from a template
I created for our department. I am receiving the time updates from her
employees that are resources on her project. I have checked that assignement
owner on the project and it is correct.

Also I have another project manager that when she accepts project time it is
not being pushed over to her project in professional and this is only
happening on one of her projects.

Jason,

If working from a template, the PM needs to change the Assignment
Owner. By default it picks up the Project Owner which, since you are
first to save the project to Project Server, is you.
Have them insert the Assignment Owner field, change the value then
copy it down to all tasks, then Publish again.

Hope that helps,

Mark,

The assignment owners are correct. I found a way to save a template without
defaulting the assignment owner to me, so that is not the issue.

Could there be something else?

Jason, can you expand on how to save the template without defaulting
assignment owner to the person who created the template....?
I probably have the same issue with templates i created, we just haven't
rolled out PS07 yet to users...

thx.

You build the template and instead of saving the plan to the server, save it
locally to you machine. This will prevent the assignment owner from
defaulting to the creator. Open the saved plan and do a "save as" and save
it to the server as a template.

just to be clear; then you don't have these in as 'templates' inside of
Project Server? which could be accessed via Project Pro 2007.

That you have people go to a local directory and get the template from
there....?
just curious on how you have this working

Troy,

The template is in Project Professional. The user will go to "File - New"
then select on computer from the left navigation. A box will pop-up and the
template will be listed under the Enterprise Template tab.
