PS2007 timesheet classification

I have a test environment set up with PS 2007 and I'm trying to understand
how timesheets work in PS2007. I am trying to figure out how users would
report non project time such as routine daily work. For example, managing AD
user accts. How can I add this to a time sheet without it being listed in
between project tasks? The problem is that when i go into a timesheet and
try to add a line, I am forced to "select from existing assingments" then it
adds the task within the proj tasks. Is it possible to have them seperate
from admin tasks and project tasks?

Log into PWA with administrator permissions and then click Server Settings -
Administrative Time. The system includes only three types of default
administrative time, which includes Administrative (the general "catch all"
bucket where users put non-project working hours that do not fit anywhere
else), Sick Time (when they are sick, of course), and Vacation. Vacation
time requires advance approval, while the other two do not. On this page,
you can add other administrative tasks, such as Meetings, Training, etc.
Take a conservative approach to adding more items to this page, as these
items appear on the My Timesheet page for EVERY user. When a user creates a
new Timesheet, he/she can then enter administrative time in the proper
category, as well as entering time spent on project tasks as well.

Also, if you only see the option to add New Lines from projects, then you
need to navigate to Server Settings - Timesheet Settings and Defaults. On
this page, select the "Allow unverified timesheet line items" option and
click the Save button. By doing so, you will allow users to add their own
Timesheet lines for administrative work. Hope this helps.

Yes it helps. I turned on "allow unverified time". It doesnt exactly work
the way i would like. I want users to be able to add lines that are separate
like the admin tasks, but i dont want it to show up for every user. At least
now we can figure out how to approach this.

Thanks for your help

You are more than welcome for the help, my friend! I doubt, however, you
will find a way to allow some users to add unverified lines, while
preventing others from doing so. But, on the other hand, if you find a way
to do this, please let us all know! :)
